End of Summer

29 Sep

I’m in the blahs.  Nothing big, just lots of stuff.  Blah.  Blech.  Don’t feel like being the grownup.  So sorry for no blogs.  No one wants to read about this.

Excellent Tips

How to be a better parent…trust me, read it.  Genius.  Not cheesy.  Really.

This summer my boys have begun to shun pajamas for sleeping in the underwear.  They find it daring.  I find it amusing.  Whatever.  It is hot.  I don’t care.  It has the added bonus that Daddy mentioned that he sleeps in just unders and always has.

The bonus here is that I get to see my funny children running around looking so tall and lean and hilarious with just brightly colored underwear.  Their bodies are amazing to me.

No pictures, I’m thinking that a school aged child is probably the cut off for Internet Nudity (or near) appropriateness.  And that makes me sad.

At what point am I not going to think that their bodies are cute and fascinating?  I’m guessing that the first body hair will do it, but I wonder if it will come sooner.  That is a day that will make me cry.

My West Wing Peeps!

I know that not everyone feels as strongly about THE WEST WING as I do, but that is your fault not mine.  This brings me joy.  Huge amounts.  Even though people get old (even actors).

Eco Tech

I’ve been looking at these water bottles for a while and finally ordered a couple.  I’m on the fence.  Love that you can keep it in your purse or bag until you fill it up–and after you use it.  Awkward to drink out of though.   So make your own buying decisions folks.  The boys think they are amazing, of course.

What I Need

19 Sep

So I just finished reading SALVAGE THE BONES by Jesmyn Ward.  No one I know has read it (according to GoodReads and regular conversation).  But I need to talk about it.  NEED, not want.  Peeps, it won the National Book Award so I’m not too far off base wanting others to get it on it.

My head is full of thoughts.  It isn’t a happy book.  Just so you know.  But it is rich.  And I need someone here.  So step up people.
